Privacy Policy

Who we are

Flip & Learn ABC is an alphabet app for children, made by BuraApps. BuraApps is responsible for the app and is the controller for the little personal data described in “If you email us” below. You can reach us at support@flipandlearn.app.

What the app does not collect

• No personal data: no names, no profiles, no photos, no contacts, no location.
• No accounts and no sign-in.
• No advertising of any kind.
• No analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting.
• No in-app purchases.
• No device permissions: the app does not ask for the microphone, the camera, your location or your contacts.

What is saved on your device

The app saves a few small values in your device’s standard app-settings storage:

• Three settings from the parents’ area: “Letter & word audio” on or off, “Sound effects” on or off, and “Hints” on or off.
• For the parental gate: the number of wrong answers and, after three wrong answers, the time until which the gate stays locked (60 seconds).

That is all. The app does not save a child’s name, a profile, game progress or scores.

The app never sends these values anywhere, and we have no access to them. If you have switched on device backups, Apple or Google may include app settings in your own backup. To delete everything the app has saved, uninstall the app.

Audio

The letter names, the words, Mo’s lines and the sound effects are audio clips that are bundled inside the app and played from there.

For a small number of words the app asks your device’s own built-in text-to-speech engine to speak the word. Where your device reports a voice that works without a network connection, the app selects that voice.

The app does not record any audio and has no access to the microphone.

Internet

Flip & Learn ABC needs no internet connection to play. On Android the app does not request the internet permission. The app’s own code makes no network requests: the fonts are bundled inside the app, and downloading fonts at run time is switched off.

The parents’ area

The parents’ area opens only after an adult has answered a multiplication question (the parental gate). Everything described in this section sits behind that gate; nothing here appears on a screen a child plays on.

The parents’ area contains a few links. Each one opens in another app on your device (your store app, your browser or your email app), never inside Flip & Learn ABC:

• Flip & Learn Words opens the store page of our other app.
• Our website opens flipandlearn.app in your browser. The link carries a short tag that tells the website the visit came from the parents’ area of this app; it contains nothing about you or your device. The website has its own privacy notice.
• Rate this app and Privacy policy open the app’s store page and this page.
• Contact support opens your own email app with a new message addressed to support@flipandlearn.app. The subject line is filled in with “Flip & Learn ABC” and the app’s version number.
• Help improve this translation (shown only in some menu languages) opens your own email app with a new message to the same address. It is filled in with the code of the menu language (for example “pl”), the app’s version and build number, and the question “Which text, and what should it say?”.

Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email yourself. The app adds nothing else to these messages.

If you email us

If you write to support@flipandlearn.app, we receive your email address, your message and anything else your email shows, such as your name.

• Purpose: we use this only to answer you and to deal with your request.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Sharing: we do not sell or share your email with anyone. It is handled by the email service that delivers our mail, and by no one else.
• How long we keep it: only as long as we need it to deal with your request. After that we delete it, unless a law requires us to keep it longer.
• Your rights: you can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict its use, and you can object to its use. Write to support@flipandlearn.app. If you live in the EU you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

Flip & Learn ABC is made for children, so it is built to collect nothing from them. In line with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• The app does not collect personal information from children, or from anyone else.
• A child does not need to enter anything to play.
• The app shows no advertising.
• Links to stores, to our website and to email are only in the parents’ area, behind the parental gate.

App Store and Google Play

You download the app from Apple’s App Store or from Google Play. Apple and Google handle the download and any data connected with it under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. They may show us totals, such as the number of downloads. We cannot identify any person from those figures.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
