This sheet has a matching pair of puppies, each with floppy ears, a collar and a patch around one eye. Below the pictures, your child traces the German word HUND and the English word DOG, both in big capital outlines. The D at the end of Hund sounds like a T.
Tracing tips for these letters
D appears in both words and is built the same way each time: straight stem first, then the bowl as stroke 2. O and G both start near the top and travel around as one stroke, so a slow, steady pencil suits them. In HUND, the U is a single smooth dip, while the N takes three separate strokes, each with its own number.
Ways to use it with your child
- Bark, then say "dog" and "Hund" one after the other.
- Decide on a coat color together and use it for both puppies.
- Spot a dog on a walk or in a picture book and name it in both languages.
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
