A pair of matching ducks with flat bills and pointed tails fills the top half of this page. Beneath them, the sheet asks for two words: ENTE, the German word for duck, and DUCK itself. The two share no letters at all, which makes this a nice sheet for comparing how different the same animal can look on paper.
Tracing tips for these letters
ENTE opens and closes with the same four-stroke E, so the second one is a chance to repeat the order just used. The T goes stem first, with the top bar following as stroke 2. In DUCK, the U dips and rises without a break, and the K has a second stroke that touches the stem at its middle before heading away again.
Ways to use it with your child
- Waddle around the table and quack before saying each word.
- Talk about which colors a duck might be, then color both ducks the same way.
- Compare the words side by side and check that no letter appears in both.
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
