Five apples, in two pairs with one more underneath, sit next to a tall outlined 5. This is the only numbers sheet with an umlaut: FÜNF has two dots above the U, each with its own number. Under it comes FIVE. The Ü has no direct English match, so an easy approach is to say "ee" with rounded lips.
Tracing tips for these letters
FÜNF has two F letters with three strokes each. The U is drawn first as one curve, and the dots follow as strokes 2 and 3, so they are the last part of that letter. In FIVE, the V is a single down-and-up, and the E finishes with four strokes. The digit is an outline only, with no arrows.
Ways to use it with your child
- Spread out one hand and count the fingers in both languages.
- Press a fingertip in paint or ink to make the two dots above the U.
- High-five once, then say "five" and "fünf".
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
