Nine apples make a tidy three-by-three square next to a 9 with a curved tail. The words below are NEUN and NINE, two words with a lot in common: each has two N letters and an E.
Tracing tips for these letters
With four N letters across the two words, this sheet gives plenty of practice at its three strokes: first upright, then the diagonal, then the second upright. Point out the numbered dots to your child, because the diagonal starts back at the top. U in NEUN is a single curve. The big 9 is a coloring shape without arrows. On spare paper, your child could start with a small circle and then add the tail.
Ways to use it with your child
- Count the apples by rows: three, six, nine.
- Make a square of nine stickers or blocks on the table.
- Find every N in both words and trace it again with a finger.
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
