Four apples in two neat rows match the big 4 on this page, which is drawn with a closed top. Under the pictures are VIER and FOUR. The V in Vier sounds like an English F, which makes it an interesting comparison with the F at the start of FOUR. Both words also end in the letter R.
Tracing tips for these letters
V in VIER is one stroke, down to the point and straight back up, with no lifting of the pencil. R closes both words and takes three strokes: stem, bowl, then the leg from the middle. F has a stem and two bars. The digit outline carries no arrows, so it is purely for coloring.
Ways to use it with your child
- Count the legs on a chair, a table or a toy animal.
- Line up four crayons, then use those four colors for the four apples.
- Tap four corners of the sheet, saying "vier" or "four" at the end.
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
