The last sheet of the numbers set has two digits instead of one: a 1 and a 0, side by side, with ten apples opposite in rows of three, two, three and two. ZEHN and TEN sit below. Zehn begins with the same sharp Z sound as Zwei. TEN is the shortest word on the numbers sheets, tied with ONE, TWO and SIX.
Tracing tips for these letters
Z in ZEHN is a single zigzag, and H gets its crossbar last. In TEN, T starts with its stem and adds the top bar next. N takes three strokes in both words. The digits on the sheet are for coloring and have no arrows. To write 10 on spare paper, your child can do the 1 first, then a 0 that begins at the top and comes back around to where it started.
Ways to use it with your child
- Hold up all ten fingers and count them in English and German.
- Count ten steps across the room, then back again in German.
- Put ten small snacks in rows like the apples and count them as they go.
How to print it
Print at 100 percent with no scaling, so the tracing letters come out at the size they were drawn for. Black and white is fine.
